Part three from a outstanding 1988 interview with then Libertarian Party presidential candidate Ron Paul. In this hour long discussion Ron Paul outlines the basic nature of the structure of American power and the control that a very few men working for the largest banks have over the economy. Already a veteran Congressman and minority chairman of one of the economic committees he speaks from a position of inside knowledge. In the first part he deconstructs the notion of a two party system serving the people . Instead we have one set of policies administered by basically the same people on a rotating business. As the discussion continues the real power in the system is revealed to be the international bankers. Central banks, the Federal Reserve, the IMF & World Bank, The Tri Lateral Commission, The Council on Foreign Relations and other organizations are the ones with the power and continuity to maintain control. Although the interview is almost twenty years old it is very relevant to todays economic crisis.
This interview was broadcast on a public access cable show called Alternative View. which is a fascinating study in contrasts. On the one hand you have this bare bones show run by Frank Morrow who looks a lot like Larry David and is not a professional television production by any means. On the other hand these guys knew what was going on at the time and had on great guests like Ron Paul, former CIA station chief John Stockwell and renowned documentary filmmaker Emile de Antonio. The show ran for more than a decade and exposed the ugly side of the Reagan/Bush revolution. The shows are available for free downloading at Internet Archive http://www.archive.org/index.php

  • Sorry JustWizzyOne, not sure how old you are, but there was a major recession in the early 1990's just like Ron Paul said. Do you not remember 1990-1994? It was a deep recession, only slightly less terrible than the one we're in now!

  • @JustWizzyOne Bill Clinton

  • Can someone explain to me why Ron Paul's prediction of a depression in the 90's, didn't happen?

  • @Piett2 your right, but you got to understand how ignorant most of us were/are. But the good thing is alot of people, mostly college-aged, are becoming educated to Freedom and free market economics, and that is why I have some faith in my country. Never count America out!

  • Americans out there : Seriously, you had this guy available all these years to elect to make this "change" you so like to chant prior to election - and you didnt empower him. Why-o-Why?

  • "That's why the emergency powers are already written. The President can declare an emergency and take over the industries and take over our lives and confisicate the gold, and that's why we should be concerned."

    Truly Prophetic.
