Jimmy Driftwood
Child Ballad # 12
Jimmy Driftwood was most well known for his songs "The Battle of New Orleans" and "Tennessee Stud". But he wrote more than 6,000 songs and had over 300 songs covered by a variety of musicians.
In addition to being an amazing artist he also worked to protect the Ozark Mountains from which he came. He worked to protect both the Buffalo River and the Blanchard Springs Caverns. He was later made head of the Arkansas Parks and Tourism Commission. He was also on the Advisory Committee of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.. And due to his vast knowledge of folk music he was also appointed as a musicologist for the National Geographic Society.

@stewballmax3 Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it. I don't usually put pictures to music, I'm never sure if the pictures I pick go well with a particular song. But I love Mr. Driftwood's Ozarks as much as I love his singing so I had to include them this time. Thanks again. :)
