  • Incredible! Does this happen at the same time every year?

  • @adrianwiuk Yes at least the last three years it occurs from June through to September depending on whether to how much plankton blooms up IM trying to organise a trip for next year 2011 keep in contact and you may see this yourself

  • @adrianwiuk yes the last three years at least from June to September depending on the plankton I am trying to organise a trip for 2011 hopefully can repeat this again keep in touch and you could be there to

  • @eddiehuz If you wish to preserve and conserve the Maldives beautiful diving sites please help us in raising awareness against pseudo-scientific researchers such as Guy Stevens employing aggressive and reckless tagging of whale sharks and mantas

He has also been selling the locational data of whale sharks to four seasons resort Maldives (where his research base is) and not revealing his findings to the public. Is this the behavior of a true researcher claiming to help the community?

  • @Raappe Yes I was told this on my last trip about Guy Stevens is time I believe what I was told on some of my video you can see the evidence of very bad tagging in some cases to tag this with barnicles around them. say I understood that it was very rich people from the four seasons for the group that was particularly doing this I am all for research for research not for profit. I will obviously help out at any tiem to point out that four season are making money from so-called research

  • Yeah but recently we have not been seeing numbers and activity like this at Hanifaru

One cause may be the aggressive tagging done by a researcher named Guy Stevens who we as local Maldivian Divers are trying to stop.

Our doors are open to foreign researchers. However, this gentleman has been extremely reckless evidenced by the sighting of some whale sharks with fins being disfigured which had tags in them. He has also been selling whale shark locational data to fthe four seasons hotel

  • You can do this next year hopefully I will be organising a trip again it is one of the most amazing things I have done I have dived in the Maldives at least 10 years never experienced this amazing fantastic site. and class it as a privilege

  • Wow Eddie!!

How fantastic was it to dive with so many? I am envious.
