Look at the IRONY and allusion in this clip. You see the brotherhood between Steve and Bo, and then you see Steve give Bo the very knife that Bo would use to cut Steve's eye out. Then think about the knife tattoos that Steve, Britta and Bo get as a token of their friendship. And then Bo gives Steve the very same harmonica that Steve kept even when he was trying to exact revenge on Bo, and eventually they "patched" things up. Soap writers just don't do these things anymore.

I always thought that Britta was Steve's girlfriend first and then she got involved with Bo. But Bo told Hope that Britta was his girlfriend. Was she with Bo first then Steve?
