Cal looks like a model, tall, think and long neck with high cheek bones and gorgeous smile. The Velvelettes may have not been the big stars at Motown but seeing them still kicking it today as a group is a far better blessing than being number one stars back in the day.
I am familiar with the Diana Ross version of this Ashford and Simpson track. This Velvelettes version is the original and best. It is simply awesome. Tamla genius.
Cal tells the story that Diana Ross heard her record the vocal in 1966 and remarked that it was a good song and one she would like to record. Diana did record it a few years later and I agree that it is a great version too.
Beautiful girls, beautiful dresses, beautiful music.
