I love traveling! If it is for business or for pleasure, I just cant get enough! But what makes or breaks the trip is usually the hotel I am staying in. I have had the pleasure to stay in two great hotels these past few months, citizenM and The Leela. I think I have now found the next hotel on my list, 9 hours in Japan.

9 hours is a japanese capsule hotel with a difference. The latest Monocle report takes you on a tour trough the hotel and its great communication. It reminds me a lot of the concept behind citizenM, but with a twist. They expect you to stay just 9 hours in the hotel, 1 hour to shower, 7 hours to sleep, and 1 hour to rest. 1 hour shower! THANK YOU!

  • The Aperture Science hotel branch.

  • They can't make them in New York because Americans wouldn't be able to fit in the capsules.

  • as someone who is looking to travel to Japan on a budget, I'm heavily considering this form of lodging.

Sure it might not be as nice as a Hyatt or Embassy Suites, but it does provide the basic lodging at a cheap rate.

  • @Silvadragon After living with many room mates and staying at many convention hotels, you'd find out that this answer is "a lot of people"

  • what means POD ? I mean the definition of the word ?

  • You know what would ruin this in the States? Black People.

  • It sounds like a great idea if you just want a basic place to crash for the night. But nothing beats a nice rated hotel overnight with all the room facilities and a bit of luxury.

That is what travelling is all about and the comfort of the hotels and memories you have about that night and the room and the settings.

to stay in a place like this would personally make me feel like I'm staying in a hospital overnight..

  • 1 hour to shower, WTF who takes that long?

  • "to high quality white towels"

    lol.
