I don't see how anyone can claim that there is no evidence against a god. Of course there is. Here's one thing that pisses me off to this day. Has anyone noticed that references in the bible, are absolutely true, and literal... until science disproves it... Then, suddenly EVERYONE knows this was just a metaphor! Sure. We all know how barbarians goat herders are known for their lyrical prose.

@MrBiblical If American money said "In Santa We Trust", or if young Americans marched off to war believing that they go to the North Pole and play with toys forever if they die in battle, or if people prayed to Santa to bring them insulin for their diabetic child instead of going to the doctor, or if businesses avoided paying their fair share of taxes on donations and book sales because they claim they were working for Santa, I would fight SantaClaustianity. Ignoring the problem won't solve it.

i just love how most atheists sit here and say how they dislike religion but it is the number one thing they talk about oh the irony. let me make a point know matter how much you dislike something it is gonna always gonna always be s there atheist can cry about religion and ignorant christians can babble on and on but with no result. but, to be honest myself as a catholic i tend to keep to myself about things and rather than be an ignorant christian lets try to be sensible.

Atheists generally tend to be real nasty - especially on comments sections like this. It's kind of like kick the cat. Atheists are one of the most despised kind of people in America. To publicly claim to be an atheist can not bring the best to you in this country. So, they take it all out on people who believe in God. Kick the cat.

Why can't believers understand this basic idea? Theists make a claim. ("There's a god.") Atheists merely reject that claim. If every theist suddenly disappeared, nobody would be claiming there's a god, and thus, atheists wouldn't be saying ANYTHING. Without a claim of god from theists to reject, there is no atheist message!
If everyone on Earth was a theist, everyone's claim would be "There is a god."
If everyone on Earth was an atheist, nobody would be claiming anything about a god.

@evanom2 He's had many "results" in his efforts with man according to your scriptures. Frankly most of them are bad (I'd call wiping out nearly everything with a flood pretty unpleasant results). Furthermore, all poetry aside, if you consider the apocalypse of revelations where millions, even billions die to a god's wrath to be a positive event, I have to call in to question your moral fiber, no less your god's moral and ethical soundness (which sane people question just reading the bible).

A book, by definition, cannot be perfect. A book is artificial by nature, a representation by nature, man made by nature. To believe a book is perfectly true is idiotic--especially a book filled with narrative contradictions and logical contradictions.
