As Leonard Cohen was the true voice of my generation, Tift Merrit, I am certain, will eventually be recognized as the true voice of today's. There aren't that many artists that can so completely catch the heart and soul of an era.

You could call it Old Fashioned Country, or Americana, or alt/retro Country. All I know is this is a ton better than what most of NashVegas is doing. I'd love to hear Tift Merritt and Lucinda Willams play together, or with Rodney Crowell.
