The supporting cast includes Edgar Buchanan, Andy Devine, Chill Wills, Lana Wood, and Burt Mustin (all of whom, except Wood, were in The Over-the-Hill Gang). Like the 1969 original, the sequel involves aging Texas Rangers and was written by Richard Carr and directed by George McCowan.

The Courtship of Eddie's Father is a American television sitcom based on the 1963 movie of the same name, based on a book written by Mark Toby (ghostwritten by Dorothy Wilson), which had gained some respect in theaters. It was directed by James Komack and tells the story of a widower, Tom Corbett (played by Bill Bixby), who was a magazine publisher, and titular son, Eddie Corbett (played by Brandon Cruz), who believes his father should marry and manipulates situations surrounding the women his father is interested in.

The series debuted on September 17, 1969, and was last broadcast March 1, 1972, on ABC, replacing the Here Come the Brides series. ABC had acquired the rights to do a weekly television comedy-drama, dealing with a young, single father, trying to raise a young son while pursuing a social life.

Series stars Bill Bixby and Brandon Cruz are the only two actors to appear in every episode of the series. Miyoshi Umeki appeared in all the Courtship episodes, with the exception of 7, for a total of 66/73 episodes.

Bixby received an Emmy nomination for the show.

The Danny Thomas Show (known as Make Room for Daddy during the first three seasons) is an American sitcom which ran from 1953-1957 on ABC and from 1957-1964 on CBS. A revival series known as Make Room for Granddaddy aired on ABC from 1970-1971.

In 1970, Room 222 earned Emmy Awards in three categories: Outstanding New Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Michael Constantine), and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Karen Valentine).

The Johnny Cash Show was an American television music variety show hosted by Johnny Cash. The Screen Gems 58-episode series ran from June 7, 1969 to March 31, 1971 on ABC. The show reached No. 17 in the Nielsen ratings in 1970. Its cancellation was a result of ABC's rural purge.

Cash opened each show, and its regulars included members of his touring troupe, June Carter Cash (his wife) and the Carter Family, The Statler Brothers, Carl Perkins, and The Tennessee Three, with Australian-born musical director-arranger-conductor Bill Walker. The Statler Brothers performed brief comic interludes.

It featured many folk-country musicians, such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Kris Kristofferson, Mickey Newbury, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Merle Haggard, James Taylor and Tammy Wynette. (The town was supposedly based on Santa Barbara but was filmed in Oxnard in Ventura County.) Have a safe holiday.

  • Is that William Schallert doing the opening narration on this? It sure sounds like it!

  • Zalman King (Young Lawyers) was directing erotic thrillers back in the 80s. Norman Alden in the Silent Force clip voiced Aquaman in the Superfriends. Silent Force was a Mission Impossible clone. Paramount producers saw Lynda Day George on SF and cast her for the last two seasons of MI. This was the first year the NFL and AFL merged on MNF, though none of the AFL teams were listed in the promo. Leonard Nimoy and Malachi (False Face on Batman) Throne. Herschell Bernadi's CBS sitcom failed.

  • Wow talk about some bad acting. The only good one was Richard Pryar
