This is a video I combined that shows the Alabama and Auburn teams coming onto the field, the coin toss, with Siran Stacy, honorary Game Captain, and his daughter at the bottom of the midfield circle. After the coin toss, Siran brings his daughter to the sideline, and at that point he does something unbelievably wonderful. The crowd, while cheering, are somewhat subdued, I know I was. Here he was, just a year after the van he was driving was hit by another vehicle, killing his wife and four of his children, leaving him and only a daughter to carry on. Then, at the North End Zone, Siran took the Game Ball and threw it in the stands. He took-off his coat and waved his arms to the crowd to cheer louder, and louder. To me, if I could only have one moment to remember from all of the Alabama-Auburn games I have seen, this would be it.

  • Today, 3/2/2010, I combined this video with the one that was taken just before this one that shows the teams coming into the field, the coin toss with Siran and his daughter at the middle of the field, and Siran doing what he did in this video. To me, it is even more touching because you hear a "different" kind of yelling from the crowd: There's the screams for each teams as they enter the field, then, there's sort of a "quieter" yelling at first with Siran, then the joyous yells at the end.
