Prey animals cannot differentiate death or alive prey WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD; they need to eat, and they will start eating at the moment where food is available, and that is, when the prey is not able to resist any more. Lions, tigers, wolves, falcons, all prey animals act in the same way, WHY CANNOT PROJECT ON THEM OUR ETHICAL CONVICTIONS; we should however, DO ACT ETHICALLY CONCERNING HUNTERS, HUMAN HUNTERS... They DO have the choice, and choose to kill for pleasure.

Good grief. At least lions put their prey out of it's misery first. A bite to the throat and suffocation. This is just beyond disturbing.

Lions don't always kill their prey before eating it—it has to fight back. There's a video of a baby elephant with broken legs that lions eat alive here on youtube. It takes them hours—during which the little elephant is alive and conscious—because they like to eat slowly. Hyena at least chow down fast.
The collars the hyenas are wearing are tracking gear and video may have been taken by researchers; I heard conversation about one hyena's status in a clan having fallen. Not tourist talk.
