In Canada, citizens can pick any doctor they want. They can see three or four doctors if they want to.
Canadians actually have MORE freedom in picking their doctors than Americans. Canadians can see any doctor. Americans can only see the doctors that their health insurance companies let them see.
Every first-world country has Universal Healthcare. Citizens of these countries are generally much happier with their healthcare systems than Americans are.
Of course, there are abuses in public healthcare systems, and people fall through the cracks. But there are far more cracks in the American system.
No one in a public healthcare system is ever denied care because of "pre-existing conditions." Few, if any, people in such systems go bankrupt because of healthcare costs.
