Through the territory of Soviet Russia and the land of the Tatars, across the Steppes and on to China and Japan, the Trans-Siberian express takes twelve days to complete its journey. Russia's Trans-Siberian Railway is the longest continuous rail line on Earth, that runs in an epic journey of almost six thousand miles over one third of the globe.

The Trans-Siberian line runs from Moscow to Beijing, passing through Yaroslavl on the Volga, Yekaterinburg in the Urals, Irkutsk near scenic Lake Baikal's southern extremity, then passes over the edge of the Gobi Desert and runs beside the Shilka River to reach Beijing.

Yet the main attraction has to be the gradually changing scenery itself: from the climb through the Ural mountains (the boundary between Europe and Asia), to the wide open steppes and broad rivers we cross, traveling on the Trans-Siberian is the only way to truly take in the vastness and grandeur of the worlds largest country.

Travel aboard luxury train Trans-Siberian Express for unparalleled opportunities for viewing wildlife and scenery, time for optional excursions, and the chance to experience some of the Russias most pristine wilderness. Our train contains some of the finest accommodation available in luxury train travel today, offering a high level of comfort; particularly important in the cabins, which will be your 'hotel room' on wheels.

All departures feature one or two lovingly designed restaurant cars and a spacious bar car. So, as well as enjoying the excellent food and wine served on board, you can sit with a drink while enjoying the good company and conversation of fellow travelers; and watch the changing landscapes unfold.

Experience a panoramic view of the majestic and diverse landscapes of Russia while enjoying some old-fashioned luxury train travel. In this fast-paced hectic world can anyone think of a better way to unwind and celebrate life than a healthy dose of luxury train travel every now and then?

  • "The Trans-Siberian line runs from Moscow to Beijing,.."

    It isn't true!

The Trans-Siberian line runs from Moscow to Vladivostok. From Moscow to Beijing there are two lines, the Trans-Manchurian and the Trans-Mongolian. Both are connecting Beijing to the Trans-Siberian Railway line, so if someone travels from Moscow to Beijing, the train uses parts of the Trans-Siberian line, but not all of it. The real Trans-Siberian train is the #1/2 Moscow-Vladivostok train.

  • The Trans-Siberian Railway or Trans-Siberian Railroad is a network of railways connecting Moscow and European Russia with the Russian Far East provinces, Mongolia, China and the Sea of Japan.

  • The main route of the Trans-Siberian runs through Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita and Khabarovsk to Vladivostok via southern Siberia was built 1891-1916 under the supervision of ministers of Russia who were personally appointed by Tsar Alexander III and by his son, Tsar Nicholas II. The additional Chinese Eastern Railway was constructed as the Russo-Chinese part of the Trans-Siberian Railway, connecting Russia with China and providing a shorter route to Vladivostok .

  • @jensssen Yes, you are right. From Beijing you can also take the ferry from Beijing

  • I want to go from the Netherlands to Japan with only train.

So I must go to Russia and then I must take the Trans-Siberian?

Because I want to travel via China so I want to go Beijing and from Beijing to Shanghai and from Shanghai to Kobe or Osaka. So can I go like that way also with this line?
