  • @northplattedrifter While you're correct that there is an historical marker for "Colter's Hell" referring to an extinct geyser basin on the western edge of Cody and, if you want to nit-pick, it is the official "Colter's Hell", the term has also been used over the years (including in Ken Burn's National Parks documentary) more generally in reference to the thermal features throughout the area.

  • Colter's Hell does not describe the geysers in Yellowstone. Do some research before posting! It is the an area right outside of Cody, WY and not in the Park!!!
