Kyra Sundance shows you the quick and easy way to teach your puppy to "roll over". This clip is an excerpt from Kyra's "Best Puppy Tricks" DVD which is available at Petsmart and Petco. See also "Best of 101 Dog Tricks" DVD.
@beehappy718 , If the simple motion is not working with your dog try holding the frount paw closest to the way you are directioning the treat. when he tryies to go for the treat give him a light lift and if all goes well he should roll :-) even if he just goes to his side reward. Every small motion is a good one. Always remember your dog might get some tricks in the first couple tries and outhers it may take a couple weeks :-D
@7flyinghecks . The clicker is an amazing tool when teaching dogs new tricks, however it is not an absolute needed item all the clicker does is take a sound that the dog does not hear in his normal day and the dog begins to recognize the sound as he is doing something good you can use your own vocals to do the same thing a clicker does. simply say a key word like ZOOM, or SHWAM, or click your self with your mouth and toung. your dog will soon respond tot he noise you make as a rewarding tone.
I have a border collie I would like to do clicker training with, but he is afraid of the noise. I have tried just clicking it and giving him a treat, but he refuses to take the treat from me after he hears the clicker. Do you have any tips on how I can desensitize him or ideas for something else I can use a bridge signal? Thanks.
Great video! I'm a big fan of your books. I use them to train my chihuahua Gomez. We have gotten great ideas from you! I saw your picture with Karen Quest the cowgirl rope tricks lady. She stops in at the circus school in Seattle where I work from time to time Small world :)
excellent loved it....it is clear to understand, you demonstrated on a few dogs and not all dogs were perfect, but you calmly showed how to keep going. love the mention of how the use of the CLICKER is so much more useful in training puppies, a great marker tool:)
