  • @ATLKapellmeister Well I obviously know that NOW. Two years ago I didn't. And if you'll notice, I also said "Well the base of it is anyway"

  • @octavegeigen4 Sorry, but this is NOT the Farnam O Fili et Filiae. There are some quotes from it, but it's not the piece. Sounds like an improvisation.

  • I mean the one at Scottish Rite, by the way. I realize I mad it sound like I was referring to the one at Christ Church. sorry.

  • Ok yes, I apologize I mixed the gallery organ with another I have played...yes it is indeed 3 manuals and 50 some ranks. But, in my opinion and from many opinions I've heard, it's not worth the time and trouble to play.

  • Well, AllenOrganCrazy, I hate to tell you, but you're wrong. The Gallery Organ at Christ Episcopal Cathedral on Monument Circle in Indianapolis is not 20 ranks nor is it two manuals. I have played that organ more than 10 times as I tend to love Taylor and Boody instruments for Bach repretoire. It is indeed 3 manuals (hauptwerk, brustwerk and ruckpositiv) and pedal and has 37 voices with 53 ranks of pipes. Also, I found getting into Scottish Rite very easy by being nice to the facility mgr!

  • I agree. St. Lukes will make you literally cry it is soooo wonderful. I had video's of it on here but the church asked me to remove them for copyright infringement issues.

  • lol good luck getting into Scottish Rite Cody. It's a member only organization. It's a 5 manual organ that almost every organist in the city drools over..they forbid anyone to play that is not a Guild member. It's not a church. As for Christ church, yes they have a 4 manual French style tracker in the chancel and a 2 manual tracker in the gallery. haha 54 ranks?? no wayyy. maybe 20 or so. I agree. I'm not too much of a fan of Casavant's organs either in that time period.

  • I found out I actually own this piece. It is in one of Gordon Young's books.

  • Well the base of it is anyway

  • This is Toccata on O Fili et Filiae by Lynwood Farnam
