I like the previous comment. Piotr Beczala is as perferct in his interpretation as Fritz Wunderlich incomparable.

Too spread? He sings perfectly in tune with constant vibrato throughout, discernible Italian and no extra breaths - these vowel choices don't affect his technique or accuracy in the slightest. "Supple" means pliable, flexible, easy - for the reasons above, it's a perfect word to describe this voice. Why would you ever want to hear "fragile" singing? If you don't want to hear men singing like men, Beczala's not for you, and I recommend Ian Bostridge.

Dalla sua pace la mia dipende;
Quel che a lei piace vita mi rende,
Quel che le incresce morte mi dà.
S'ella sospira, sospiro anch'io;
È mia quell'ira, quel pianto è mio;
E non ho bene, s'ella non l'ha

No, he intentionally did that improvisation.

SO SLOW. such great control

Thank the gods that a man is actually SINGING this piece as opposed to crooning it the whole way through.. thank you Piotr for reminding us what real tenori lirico sound like :]

This is beautiful. He sometimes reminds me a bit of Wunderlich.
