The closing has nothing to do with modernists. This church, like so many others, was closed because of the clergy sexual abuse scandal and related legal repercussions. It will be sold for a few million no doubt, and turned into condos. Parishioners and others should have barred the doors! The parish was solvent, not in debt. This property - morally - belongs to ALL Catholics, "legally" to the archdiocese. It was built and maintained by the blood, sweat and tears of the laity.
Please note that the anchorman made a mistake stating that Cardinal O'Malley was the celebrant of this Mass. He was not. In fact, we never saw him there.
I am sure he was at the Cathederal of the Immaculate Deception.
So sad to see a beautiful church like this one getting close. I would like to know the reason, specially since Latin Mass is celebrated in this church.
Maybe it's another example of how modernists are moving ahead in getting rid of Catholicism and replacing everything (even the traditional and exquisite Catholic architecture) with the church of ecumenism.
