It's that time of year again! The Foothill Performing Arts Council and the 2010 Young Performers Workshop proudly present their annual end-of-summer showcase Extravaganza!

This year's show carries the title of "Teenage Wasteland", where teens put their emotions on the raw, and tell about their stuggles with love, life, and loss.

I am very proud to have been a part of this cast. :)

Song: 'American Idiot' - Green Day and Broadway's 'American Idiot'

Soloists (in order):
Joshua Archer
Adrian Contreras
Kyle Vergara

Ensemble (Alphabetical):
Ashleigh A.
Mitch B.
Hannah B.
Sydney F.
Kasey F.
Chris H.
Amanda (Mandy) J.
Nicole M.
Sarah Stone (Myself)
Isabel (Izzie) W.

*Note: Because our venue for the evening was a church, and our target audience was all ages, some of the lyrics have been edited. Here's what we're actually singing. :)

Lyrics:

Don't want to be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new media
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind twist America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Well maybe I dress weird America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along to the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Don't want to be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It's calling out to idiot America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Enjoy!
