The Battle Rages On... is my favorite Deep Purple album. Jon Lord is the greatest.

I only have Purpendicular and a three songs from abandon, as well as MTV from rapture of the deep. I think Morse was an excellent addition to the band. Sure I herald The Battle Rages On... as perhaps their greatest work, FAR surpassing Machine Head especially, but even I feel the work that Steve does is superb. I mean think about it, how would YOU feel having to replace the man in black that he started in the first place!
