Running Into a Giant Dust Devil

Of *course* it's not a tornado. This was shot at Burning Man in 2006 (Black Rock City, Nevada), and is brought to you un-edited much to my chagrin. It's probably best if you skip forward to the last 40 seconds.

What was it like? Windy! Once I was in it, I couldn't walk because I would've fallen over. Best done with goggles and a dust mask-- I tried not to breathe in and failed. I'd run into other dust devils before (there were a lot of them that day), so I knew this one wasn't going to hurt me.

This happened while I was shooting a 48 hour film with a group of folks who used it in the picture (see "Abandon All Hope & Fear").

i was in the dust devil and it dissapred... :(

I saw a dust devil about 500+ feet tall. I knew it was that big because I could see it, and it was about 30 miles away. and it wasn't a tornado because it wasn't touching clouds (the sky was clear) and wasn't as big as a tornado.
