yes it was recorded for the BBC 'in concert' series, btw Rock legend Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) performed with Auto Dafe that night. you may have seen him backstage ?. i still listen to your set that you did that night on my iPod. sounds great!
you're quite right and your memory is better then mine! The stage power went out which was pretty frustrating as I had family there (I'm british though lived in Los Angeles). I didn't know it was recorded though the BBC set at The Paris theatre was. It was a great European tour, best wishes, joe
@shantijoe the gig was at 'The Venue' in victoria, london (its a theatre now), The Call opened for an irish new wave band called 'Auto Dafe'. the band had a brief technical hiccup at the beginning: started into the first song then stopped playing, walked off and came back when the roadies had sorted the technical hitch out. they played a fantastic set. it was recorded for the BBC 'in concert ' series. i have the entire concert on CD. so sad to hear of Michael Beens passing.
@britishcub Your memory must be better than mine! I was the bassist and we were touring Europe with Peter Gabriel at the time with a short London stop for a BBC radio gig and The Tube in Newcastle- I don't recall any London gigs. What do you recall? all the best, joe read
