Socialized Medicine Why's Everyone so Afraid of it in The US?

Our health care system in the US is broken and we need to do something! I want intelligent conversation, not angry name calling with this......thanks! & no propaganda! I want to hear the truth from those living where there is socialized medicine, let's get a real open dialog, not the propaganda! Socialized medicine is not changing our whole country to socialism.

In my country the elderly get extra help from the health service to be independent. Health workers call at their house and help them with daily tasks such as preparing food and washing clothes and keeping their house clean.If they have a step at their front door little things like handrails are provided for free that can make a big difference I've had enough of listening to US politicans saying they leave nobody behind. It's a joke.

@ironbith Are u in favour of socialized healthcare? I don't understand Americans who are against it. They say why should their taxes pay someone elses healthcare. I'd like to see them say that if they were knocked down by an uninsured drunk driver and ended up in paralysed for the rest of their life and needed 24 hour medical care. Good luck asking their insurance company for a quote when the renewal is due.

I've never in my whole life seen anyone in my country get into financial hardship due to falling ill and having medical bills.Even when someone has to go to hospital for treatment or for a consultation our health system pays cash at the hospital to reimbursh travel costs if you are low income.Our prescriptions are free for all. Americans need to wake up and wake up fast!!

A lot of Americans are afraid of Socialized Healthcare due to them being gullible enought to believe the propaganda by the insurance companies.The world is laughing when we see Americans say things like "we don't want the government interfering in our healthcare". I am from the UK.Free healthcare for all.I've never had to worry about getting sick and being made bankrupt It's actually laughable to think if I got cancer I have to make a phonecall and hopeto god the insurance pays for my treatment

It is simply not true that physicians not licensed by the AMA are quacks. Competition for quality services is what lowers the costs competition for services is what forces better quality it is the will of the people that dictates are quality of life. With regualtion the will of the people has been crushed and with socialized health care it is another step in which bureaucrats can control services that as discussed the free market was already controlling

Don't be fooled by the wealth producing medical profession you see today again this is a result of regulation not the market or better described as the peoples will. The answer is not to produce more regs and have government bureaucrats further control services the answer is de-regulation. Lets de-regulate so that the AMA can quit controlling who legally practices medicine by their standards through licensure and allow these fully qualified physicians to practice their profession or art

The Government ruined the purity of health care by creating regulations that forced these changes. Through licensure physicians were able to control the services and cost through a coalition of sorts. Socialized Medicine is another step in this evolution in which government bureaucrats have again taken more control of our services our freedom is being encroached upon by the growth of government. The Market has always dictated quality and prices far more efficiently than government bureaucrats.

The reason is that the health care system worked fine back when doctors made house calls for little pay until..............government got involved and created regulations that forced the profession to become an elite fraternity that created licensure in states in order to monopolize the profession again through government regs. It was the free unregulated market that kept standards high not government the market by economic definition is the will of the people.
