Gotta agree that this is a great conversion, given the game was made with the Playstation's strengths in mind. Sure, the resolution is slightly lower, and a lot of the special effects are missing, but who cares? Unlike the Saturn port of the original WipEout, this actually plays like the Playstation version, maintains a very respectable framerate, and has a larger draw distance than most first party games. Well done, Tantalus.
I can't believe so many people are saying how good a conversion this is. The saturn version of both wipeouts were jerky, slow and had considerably poorer graphics. Tantalus made terrible conversions for Saturn. It was capable of much better. I remember seeing this in Sega Land in an arcade running smoothly, so I wonder if it was designed for the S-TV arcade board first. It was a major let-down though, especially without prodigy. This could have been hires and amazing.
CS has free music on his regular website (all his Wipeout work along with many other games), and has a site on bandcamp(dot)com where you can buy digital downloads of albums he has made

Yep, that's right, an excellent conversion. Looks a bit roughter than the PSX version but controls better thanks to the (perfect?) Saturn controller.
Dig those Cold Storage tunes as well :)
