guys guys guys stfu and just enjoy the purity of these cars, as a datsun 280z owner
the l28 that came in mine at base FI is 170rwhp however if u get a turbo set up off the vg-30 which infact uses the same l28 base block and head obviously shaved by nissan and heavier internals ull find 250 ish horse after a lil bit of work l28's are in fact easy to get power out off if u know what motor utilizes roughly the same specs. before any rebutle is made here my car is not done but will post soon
I need a car like that to cruise around in. How awesome wouldn't it be to smack your turbocharged friends in the face with a NA 12 valve straight six? :D
An L series engine will not "fuck up" any V8 around! that`s just a stupid thing to say!
I am a BIG fan of the L-series engines and I have had 4 Datsuns with an L-series but, If you want a lot of power for cheap bucks the V8 is much more easy to use!
an L28 is much more expensive to get in the 600hp+ range than a V8, but I would rather have an L28ET with 600hp+! my point is! regardless of how good the L-series is! it cant match a 900+ V8!
the L motors are the best and thats it. fuck the v8. i bild L motors for racing and the 30-3.1 will fuck up any v8 motor around! also the burnout was bad ass and the cars look sick!
@jacob80 Im afraid You overstate your position FAR to Much. An L28 is far from a "Masterpiece of engineering" It is nothing more than 1 and a 1/2 datsun 4 cylinder welded together. They same datsun 4 cylinder they put in just about every datsun they ever made. It is little more than clever engineering and nothing more.
@naturalthing1 First off, I'm not your "dude" kid. Secondly, until I see proof of your experience with these cars, I call bullshit. Secondly, please learn to use appropriate punctuation prior to attempting a legitimate argument. Regardless of what cars you've owned (which is completely irrelevant in this predicament), it has nothing to do with the burnout. I can guarantee the Japanese know what they're doing, I don't think you have any place or experience making that conclusion. That is all.
@jacob80 Dude, I used to build / race L engine cars. Unlike you, I've owne every Skyline and Fairlady Z from 2 Hakosuka's(both 2 door "GT-R" look), 2 Ken-Mary's(2 door and 4 door), a couple of Japans(2 door and 4 door), I never got an R-30, but I had an R31 and and R32 and countless 2-Seater S-30 Z's. All of these I put L28 inside modified to 3.0~3.1 and could all beat your daddy'z big block, so shut the hell up.
That was awsome
