Golden Gate Bridge Suicide Apology

Seriously, I hope the topic of suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge will finally rest in peace. First, my heart heard the comments made on my original video, and I changed my position agreeing that we should as a society spend $45 million on a barrier for the Golden Gate Bridge to help prevent suicide by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. The only condition I was hoping for is that the Bridge Commission would vote for the design that did not obscure the panoramic view from the Golden Gate Bridge. Of course the commission did agree, voting to approve the net style barrier just a few weeks after that follow-up video.

That response was apparently not enough for everyone, as I had several people point out that I was still being insensitive and heartless in regard to the topic of suicide. Even people in my personal life eventually, and in some cases reluctantly, admitted to me that they also felt I was insensitive on speaking in such a manner on the topic of suicide.

So, now nearly a year later. I am really hoping to lay this to rest once and for all. I get it. I got the message loud and clear. Every few days for nearly a year, I get another comment letting me know just how insensitive I was in that video. So this it it... I hope.

I apologize. I am sorry. I have never been touched by suicide and can not understand how it effects the people left behind. My haphazard comments on my vlog were insensitive and heartless, and for that I apologize.

So why not remove the video? Just because my position and feelings have changed, doesnt mean that I should deny the way I was feeling at the time I made that video. Im changing what Im saying, Im not changing what Ive said.
