My second episode of Audiology featuring the fifth album by Welsh rockers, Manic Street Preachers. A personal favourite band of mine, they've never quite found the popularity they enjoy Europe and elsewhere in North America. This is the first album I ever heard by them over ten years ago and I've been hooked ever since.

  • Yeah, it's sort of criminal that I've never given these guys a shot. I liked the songs that I've heard, but I never search them out.

I think I'd heard "If You Tolerate This..." before David Usher covered it, but I know his cover is why I went and found that song and listened to it a lot.

Great vid! I really do need to do another one of these soon.

  • well, this being youtube and all, i strongly advise you to check out some video by them. i defy you to not discover them to be awesome.

  • Hey thanks I really enjoyed watching your video. I got into the Manics when they released 'Truth' also and have been hooked ever since. I believe it's their best selling album globally to date too. They are about to do a US release of their latest album 'Journal for Plague Lovers' (all lyrics used were left behind by Edwards before he disappeared) in a couple of weeks accompanied by a North American tour - their first for 10 years! It's a fantastic album and well worth checking out.

  • thanks a lot. yeah, i know about Plague Lovers -i suppose it will have a more Holy Bible feel which is cool with me. i'm very happy they'll be back in North America but I'm still no where near any of those places so seeing them in concert remains a pipe dream for me at this point.

thanks for watching - glad you liked it.

  • and actually it was released at the end of June in Canada (where I live), i just haven't gotten around to picking it up yet. the US release date is September 15th.

  • Finally, someone bigging up the Truth album instead of saying it's dull! This was the first album I bought by the Manics and bought everything ever since!

  • well, as i said in the vid, it's how i got into them as well. the album may have its lulls but i'd never call it dull. thanks for watching!
