I bought this 1950's monster a couple of weeks ago as a non-runner. It needed a new coil and some tinkering with the timing to get it going, but it's running ok now. I'd fixed the misfire yesterday and it was sweet as a nut - blocked breather hole in carb which must have clogged again.
I love this machine - it's a real solid beast.
If anyone has spares, I have a wish-list which includes a spare wheel and some bits for the Villiers Mk 25c Engine. (Cheshire/North Shropshire/Wrexham)

  • Ahhh Allen Scythes!! I love them and have had many in my time. Trouble is, they are all getting old now and with that comes bluntness!! Still, can't think of a better way to spend a saturday afternoon than behind one in a paddock!

  • @steamwally same as the 1 i would like.

  • Very nice! A motorised version of the grim reaper XD!

I have a little Villiers two stroke as well and it's loveley, I love an Oxford Sythe though : )

  • Brings back memories. I used to use one of these in the 1970s.

  • I kept looking on ebay for one of these once, was hell bent on getting one. unfortunately I don't have the land to be able to use one properly. I liked yours though, looks good.

  • proper job!! :-)
