In terms of getting more added to their sentence and such, you're right, there's nothing that can be done to them that they would care about. Thing is though, there's a lot they CAN do that would fuck them over. It's all prison politics. Depending on the guy and what he was involved in, getting thrown in the hole or getting relocated or whatever can gum up the works. You don't want to gum up the works.
