"The Heavy Hand" Against the Enemy - Armando Perez-Roura

Radio Mambi's (WAQI 710) Programming Director, Armando Perez Roura, makes comments about the rise of socialist governments in his daily commentary called "Tome Nota."

In this excerpt from October 16, 2007, Perez Roura believes that these socialist governments in Latin America, which he views as threats to the US, have so far been deterred throughout history because of the use of "the heavy hand" by the US in the past. He's most likely referring to past US interventions in Latin America which have now gained the US a very negative image in the region.

Perez Roura dismisses political engagement as a way to deal with growing socialism in Latin America, which he describes as "the enemy."

Perez Roura in the end wonders if the US is ready to deal with "the enemy" in their own backyard.

Earlier in May, Perez Roura called for a US-led "crusade" against growing socialism in the Latin region, which he described as the "terrible evils."
