I hate it how on an Airbus, you are litterally 10 feet from touch and you get called a retard - really puts my confidence right down there!

In fact it's not VASI its a PAPI installation; VASIS would require 2 bars (or three bars with a 3-bar VASIS) of light, whereas PAPI needs one row only.
