A Ride on HSR GM Artic (TA60-102N) 518206 on route 51 University. I rode it on a complete round trip from Hamilton GO Centre, through McMaster to the loop, then back, on the morning of January 26, 2007.

The bus was retired in April 2007, replaced by New Flyer DE60LFRs.

  • thanks what gm buses were the last gm bus made

    before mci took over

  • They made Fishbowls until 1986 for Canada, and like I said, the GM Classics were produced until 1987, when the model was sold to MCI.

  • The last GM Fishbowls were delivered to Santa Monica Municipal Bus Lines in 1985-86 (#5123-5180).

  • Ah, thanks. Merry Christmas!

  • mississauga transit use them on routes like route 1 dundas route 2 herontairo route 5 dixie and route 26 barethorpe i see and ride on the 1982 gm articulated bus on smaller routes to i don`t know but i think 1982 was the last transit bus gm made

  • No, Gm continued making the Classic until it was sold to MCI in 1987.

  • I think GM should go back to making buses instead of relying heavily on cars and trucks. It's called diversification

  • Sounds like 1978 GMC RTS bus from Lansing CATA and Detroit D-DOT.

  • @STMclassic there are 3 left regional transit has 1 the trolley musemn have one as well and im not sure bout the other one

  • TTC Should of bought GM Articulateds instead of Crappy Orion III's that rusted up

  • @aldrickwithrow 1982

  • @bigislesfan What @OrionVIII said, The model (along with TMC's RTS) was later bought by NovaBUS in 1993 when Halifax Metro's TC60-102N's order was on. The Classic model ended production in 1997 with STO's #9705, which is in service today.

  • so is the only remaining intact GM Artic at OC Transpo's Garage ? 8222

  • Is this rare beauty still in service?

  • Oh, Say Word! What's this BUS?

  • I like the title; "A Ride on ....... ". Think it should be called "A Sit on ... " hahaha. Thats the thing about city traffic, it never moves LMAO

  • @ClassicTVMan81 - Yup. that's what I was getting at.
