@passion4drums No, it was the effects that I had in ableton live, This video was shot almost a year ago and I would have put less reverb and more compression on it if I were to do this again. Style doesn't have have anything to do with the sound.

@brycelalonde Try the evans hydraulic glass drum heads. It is an amazing sound with minimal tuning and absolutesly no overtone while it retains a full and clear pitch

@stylerprofyler i've tried absolutely everything. my rack toms are almost as high as they go before the breaking point.

@passion4drums experiment more! chances are you're not seating the head properly, or you've let them get to out of tune before retuning them, and they've shifted on the rim. or the heads need to be replaced, or the two heads aren't in tune with each other, or the heads aren't in tune with themselves. could be a million things, but i've yet to see even a CB kit that couldn't be tuned up to a satisfactory level if it was prepared properly.
