8th May, 1974 - Edinboro State College, Edinboro, Pennsylvania.

Band: FZ, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Jeff Simmons, Tom Fowler, George Duke, Don Preston, Bruce Fowler, Walt Fowler, Ralph Humphrey, Chester Thompson.

Before you ask, "Where's Ruth Underwood?" let Frank answer from this very show: "She's in Los Angeles, she's in love"..

A brilliant extended version of this Roxy & Elsewhere classic.

  • The early to mid 1970s were a tremendously fertile phase for Frank. He wrote hours upon hours of truly amazing stuff, some of his best. He just wouldn't stop

  • that was maybe his tightest band ever

  • Saw Zappa as my first concert ever. His band never stopped playing the entire show. Public Auditorium, Cleveland Ohio, about 1983.

  • Do you have a copy of this entire show? I would gladly compensate you for this delightful recording.

  • @LawlFrank

Have you ever Heard the Songs Sinister Footware and Sinister Footware Part 2 and Drowning Witch ?

    and Alien Orifice ?

These are the hardest to play according to Zappa himself

  • @Zappafan1980 No way, overnight sensation is brilliant and apostrophy is one of the best albums... btw the grand wazoo, hot rats, bongo fury, sheik yerbouti and zootallures are as good as the others... the hardest songs to play are on roxy and onesize tho...

  • I was not there but it is indeed nice to hear a different version then the live double vinyl I hears 1000 times plus...

  • I was there...!!!! Fukin' amazin' !!!!!!!!!!

  • @wacmac1

I am sorry but i think, the Roxy and Elsewhere, One Size Fits All and Zappa Live in New York 1977 are 3 x times better then Overnite Sensation and Apostrophe

  • @narozzz I did, that's why I put it in my funk playlist I guess.

  • This is incredible.

A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of kissing Napoleon's hand after a fabulous Mother's concert. His vocal during this performance was wonderful.

God how I miss Frank. There will never be one as good again and music never had such a talent.

  • @krang07 Maybe ? To play this stuff correctly is amazing...it's beyond tight... it's unbelievable. Good comment and quite true.
