Of those bands you name, how many really get any commercial recognition like the EMO Garbage that is so prevelant? Just because loyal fans see their shows, doesn't mean they are commercially successful. Bands like Hinder should not even be allowed to have a contract, with the limited talent they have, yet they are thriving. The music industry is garbage and run by corporations, not musicians

ya, and i think that too much guys don't really understand this kind of music, because of it is too much complicated to listen...but in my opinion more skills means more ways to let feel emotions by music...

Rush used to be HUGE, Dream Theater is decently famous, Tool if you consider them progressive.

I saw Dream Theater in Chile a week ago... 18 thousand people singing their songs. In the Octavarium tour there was 22 thousand people there in Chile.

Name any good band in the progressive rock scene that is famous. All that is commercial has to be identical and whining, monotonous, drivel. Creativity is not allowed on the airwaves anymore
