@SteveFischer71 THANKS SO MUCH! I don't, but the vid will get you in the neighborhood. The CD performance is better, but this is pretty close. The CD has live drums and a tighter guitar performance. (available from my web site.)

Wow, amazing song! I love the groove of this! Do you have a score or tabs for it by chance? Enough here to keep me busy practicing for years... very inspiring! :-)
-
@dwood8142 Glad to hear that my music was a help to you on your mission. Thanks a lot!

Man! Love it. Better late than never to discover your YouTube channel. I don't know why it took me so long. Just so you know, your instrumental hymns saved me on my mission. I was fine not listening to any other music as long as I could hear the hymns played the way you did them on those 4 CDs was all I needed. Thanks!!

@gpgib Thanks, I totally agree. I think you will like this album a lot

Nice! There is enthusiasm and spirit in what you do. I don't think it is in conflict at all with LDS beliefs, but maybe only the local "culture". We are commanded to keep our passions within the limits that the Lord has set, but we were NOT commanded to NOT have passions. Great work, and done with the flare of a true virtuoso, technically and musically correct, with a LOT of YOU in there, too. Thanks for the blessing of this listen. The album is on my wish list :-)

@darhar4 Thanks tons! I enjoy playing this piece. it is a real workout.

Very tasty, Mike. Love the sweeps @ 1:50!
-
@oldguitarguy Not quite sure what that means... but thanks a lot!
-
Mormon Church sucks like hell, but your playing makes a difference...
-
@myutahcountyrealtor Thanks, It is pretty crazy stuff. I know a lot of people here locally don't get it, but I am what I am. Thanks a lot for checking it out! Stay tuned...

This has given me a whole new appreciation for your talent and work. Jesse told me about your YouTube videos so I had to take a listen for myself. I guess all I can say is what so many others have said, Wow! Absolutely Amazing! Holy Cow! Good luck with your new CD.

Hope you don't mind Michael, but I had to post a link to your vids on a composer/recording community called MacJams. Lots of talent there and those who would just enjoy your music and videos. I would post a link but Youtube says verboten.

@dlkoz Thanks a lot! I really appreciate your comments. As a studio player for so many years I have had to develop lots of different styles, but I love this fusion stuff a lot since it really challenges my aging brain.
Truly, phrasing is the key to melody and it is VERY important. Thanks for noticing!

HOLY COW !! I cant wrap enough duct tape around my head to avoid the explosion!!! In my pre-LDS day's I was in a touring band that had played with many big bands of the 80's. You SIR are the most amazing ,versatile, well structured....and the phrasing...the phrasing!!! MY HEAD...IT"S GONNA BLOW UP!!! I swear.. I've watched a few of your vids and your ability legitimately crosses over to anywhere .I wish I could shake your hand and have you look me in the eyes,so you can see my sincerity!!!

@grooveecard Good grief -- this guy has time to be a *Bishop*? That must be one rockin' ward!
-
@wbwillie Thanks. I honestly am not trying to copy anyone though. I just play it as I hear it. I am honored that you think it sounds like Eric. I respect his work as well as others quite a bit.
-
say hello to eric johnson for me when u let him out of the trunk lol j/k

Thanks for noticing phrasing. I feel strongly about it. MD
I got the CD about a week ago, I can't stop spinning it! Great stuff! 12 songs... no dogs! You compose as well as you play Michael. I need to get some of your other discs. I'll get a hold of you next week to package something together... now, if we could just get you to do a couple of tabs... ;o)

@rhollard Awesome!!! Thanks so much. Yeah, tabs are so labor intensive and time consuming that I rarely do them. maybe someday. It was a fun project to do!

I have followed Michael Dowdle's career and have his solo albums (he even helped me pick a guitar when he worked at Herger Music in 1982. I also got private access by Vaughn Johnson to his band Cinemas' rehearsal before they showcased in L.A.). I have been amazed at his playing on every album, but Convergence is my favorite. I am an LDS rock guitar player and the hard edge of this CD appeals to me. I was also pleased to see that my old band mate J Stevenett drummed on the CD. David Hyer
