  • I don't know who put this video together but I just want to offer my compliments. This is one of the most poignant songs in rock 'n roll, it's a tremendous accomplishment by Ric Ocasek, and the video really stands up to the song very well. Good work.

  • @carshagify Thank you; the song inspired me.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE POST THE LYRICS TO THIS SONG HERE ON YOUTUBE! I CAN'T FIND THEM ANY WHERE. A couple site are literally trying to charge me f**king money to see them, and blocked from viewing!!

    I would appreciate it. Thanks

  • @renc2000 Look for the lyrics archive website - they have the lyrics and don't charge folks for them. {Youtube didn't allow me to post the link.}

  • Thank you so much for posting. This really made me cry - such a bittersweet tribute to his dear, old friend. Ben was one of a kind. We are all so lucky to have his voice to listen and still move us even with him gone from this world. RIP dear Ben xx

  • @ambermum Thank you for the comments and I agree, Ben is someone who's truly missed.

  • @renc2000 you were my right hand you were my friend / you were always strong until the end / you were my good time you were my rave? / you´re the one that always set the stage / you´re what i once new now i miss you cause you´re gone / now i spend my lonely nights / wishing you were here to make things right / to turn my darkness into light / you were my party you were my tea / you´re the one that had some faith in me

  • @renc2000 You were my silver you were my gold / you were all the things that cant be told / you were my star falling through the night / you were the one who showed me grand delight / i can´t see you but i need you / and you´re gone

  • Thank you Rick for this amazing tribute!!!

  • RIP Benjamin Orr.

  • Oy. Sad, beautiful song.

  • @carshagify get over it, its just a frakkin ciggie

  • @dam9191 Hello. thank you so much for this. I think I read somewhere that RIC DEDICATED THIS song to Benjamin....do you know about that and if it's factual....?

    Thank you very much:)

    Love Ben 4ever RIP

  • Today it's the 3rd October: Ben, we will never forget you!!!

  • It is also interesting to note that the bass begins the song. I can't get enough of this song.

  • @EyeballMuscles Same here. I'm a 32 year old chick. I've been a monster U2 fan since I was 11. And I always thought of myself as knowing a lot about music. Well, I was so wrong. Somehow, about 5 months ago, I stumbled across Benjamin Orr on youtube. I knew he sang Drive, but there was so much I didn't know about him or The Cars. I didn't even know he had passed away. There hasn't been a day that has passed in the last 5 months that I haven't listened to a song Ben sang. RIP Benny11Letters
