my god tIhats the most profound statement I've v
heard : Are we talking about the same Scene - you might think that Northern Soul is pop -but I would'nt say that to the thousands of people that enjoyed quality black music that was to me and them what soul was all about ; the likes of the Montclairs ; Carstairs ; James Fountain - certainly are not pop
-
@Blackpool77 Judy Street's may be pop, but it is not shit. And almost all of the Northern Soul songs are more pop than R&B...Barbara McNair's "You're Gonna Love My Baby" is almost adult contemporary for goodness sake.
-
are they not both pop of the 1st order ; at least Marc doent have the affront to call his Northern , where as Judy Streets is utter pop shite that some people think is Northern Soul !!!!!!
-

-
if you like this version then you are a queer.utter shite

Yeah, I think that mita actually been Marc Almond that did that you knobhead.
Yes, MA went to the Casino - later slagged off the scene as elitest [ probably cos everybody gave him a wide berth ] then promptly did cover after cover, Mong!!
