I think this is a wonderful idea. Its hard to lose weight while your in school though. Isnt teen obesity a big issue as well? After school I have to do my homework and now the sun sets around 6 so i dont have much time for exercise... *no PE because i have scoliosis* I try to get in atleast an hour of walking stairs and i dont drink soda anymore...

I'm sure any office worker have many things they do away from the desk where they can give their toesies a break. But really, if you can't spend a majority of your waking hours on your feet and staying active, and you find yourself gaining weight, you don't have to look far to figure out why.

Even standing still is more painful then a leisurely walking pace though. The only problem I see with walking desks, is you have one more thing consuming power at everyone's desk.

A more affordable option is the TrekDesk. Offers the same functionality but at 1/10 the cost.

They should install them at the buffet tables all around America. That way fat people can eat and trim the pounds w/o missing a beat!

at 1 mph I might fall down its such slow walking pace. I usually trek around at 5 0r 6 mph
