A rendition of the Michael Hedges Masterpiece, "Rickover's Dream". This shoot was for equipment orientation and familiarity prior to final filming at a later date.

Filmed November 18, 2009. Videography courtesy of and many thanks to *RS*! Also a big shoutout to type3secretion for doing so much to keep our collective memory of Michael Hedges alive!

  • Great Job, you planning to sit in with CGT?

  • @Brianfiftyfivecom

Thanks for the kind words! Never even dreamed of it, although I could play at the restaurant where they're eating maybe?

  • hey its aleah eric's daughter I like your guitar and song :D

  • Mahalo, Aleah! Thank you!

  • PPS this song sounds freakin HILARIOUS, like Stevie Wonder, when you put it through a long attack envelope filter, like an Emma Discumbobulator or Ableton Live's Auto-Filter

  • Didn't quite get this comment till a few days later. Interesting idea. Maybe send me an mp3 of that? z z w e r z y at y a h o o

  • Nice

  • sure! won't be for a while but I'll definitely do a mix when I get situated recording wise!

  • You deserve the best, psalti.

  • Well, in my case, I think that was an, 'Oh, I effed *that* up!', eye-rolling smile. Prolly. Uh huh.

Michael's smile? He was a natural showman. A bit of his energetic performance and positive output was professionalism I think, but the majority was surely genuine joy in his own ability to manifest such beauty and share it with the world.

No wonder players are smiling. Anyone who can approach what he did, even a little bit, should rejoice!

  • right well the chorus is tasteful. The autofilter sounds dope too but it kinda turns it into an abomination of our dear mentor Mike...

I love TC. Someday I'll have enough money to own an all TC rack, but until then, I'm okay with yamaha, lexicon, aphex, and behringer!
