I have a 100GB HDD in this clunker and would it make any difference in speed to my PC if I replaced the HDD in this PC with a SSD drive? I should just buy a new PC but im not ready to give up XP and use 7 b/c the games I use probably wont work on it. they are older games like Doom and red faction.

You should not defragment an SSD drive. It is completely unnecessary and will shorten the life of your drive.
