@TNFlightNurse I worked in health care 2 years ago, and the doctor teaching us intubation said you can take up to 45 seconds for each insertion attempt.
I'm really tired of each doctor having slightly different rules for every procedure they teach us.
On cricothyrotomy insertion, these 2 doctors had a heated argument about whether to make a vertical vs. horizontal incision-and I thought you always made a horizontal one.

he never checked gag reflex and never informed his proctor to auscultate breath sounds. FAIL!

How do you know when to use this device? Our Medical Director, Dr. C., refuses to even have these as part of the supplies. The combitube anyway. He said they don't work very well unless the patient is larger.
In our area, two patients died directly resulting from a combitube insertion, even though they initially accepted the airway w little to no difficulty.

@notaprincess26 24 breaths per minute for 1 minute with no more than 30 seconds for each insertion attempt.

holy crap...your absolutely right!!..we need a new system

Our Chief Medical Director won't let us use Combitube.
Someone in our area died due to Combitube complications, and now Dr. C. doesn't want us to use it.
He likes either EOA or LMA insertion.

National Registry should be dis-continued, it's only getting those is Columbus richer by taking money out of the pockets of EMT's & Medics with their goofy registry!
These vids are great prep. It's hard to just "study the sheets."
