Dr. Don Coluzzi demonstrates use of dental lasers at a special demo session at UCSF.
He's one of the pioneers of dental laser usage, professor, and a really cool guy.
Basically, this demonstrates the different roles of different lasers. Soft tissue lasers for gingival recontouring, retraction, and hemostasis. Hard tissue lasers for attraumatic cavity preperations, removal of composites, and such.
Caveat: While lasers are nifty, they're also really expensive. The small soft tissue models are ~$6,000-$8,000. The large tissue laser is perhaps $40,000. Additionally, these tools have limited uses.
