HEY MRDIRECTOR! just want to thank you so much for putting the links to the comics. i love transformers, or bayformers more like it.. and only recently learnt of the comics. i tried to d/l them everywhere, and ebay is far too expensive. but now i am so happy ive read the stories. ty so much you rock!

There is also a series called "Transformers Movie Prequel" which came out before the movie. that comes after defiance correct?

Pretty much, except the Revenge of the Fallen prequel is split into Alliance and Defiance. But yeah, in terms of when they take place, Defiance comes first, the first movie prequel goes next, then it's the first movie, then reign of starscream and alliance, then Revenge of the Fallen.

Alliance occurs at about the end of the first movie. Defiance takes place long before even the first movie, but explains how Megatron turns evil and how the war starts. I've read the official movie adaption as well and I won't spoil much, but there are things in Defiance which will be brought up in the movie such as the Fallen, and the sun harvester.

Reign of Starscream is the sequel to the first movie, and then Transformers: Alliance and Transformers: Defiance are both prequels to Revenge of the Fallen.
