Child Labour in Sivakasi,TamilNadu. Documented by Manitham on May,2010. This video telecast in Korean TV "W" in Korean Language. But you can hear voice in Tamil.
Manitham already Documented Child Labour in Sivakasi in Aug. 2007, which was also recorded with U Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt6YLUnWCsc). Child Labour menace has increased now, comparing with Aug. 2007.
Chitra, a girl identified by Manitham, who affected while working in Cracker Factory in Sivakasi, was taking to hospital 5 times for plastic surgery and she can walk now. But two more operations has to be done to cure her. She is seeking sponsor from your persons.
Another girl, Muniswari, a child working in Match Factory, was also identified by Manitham during Aug. 2007 and she was put in School. now she is going to school regularly.
But 1,000s of boys and girls are still working as Child Labour in Sivakasi. Govt. has to take strong action to eradicate the menace.

The public opinion has been mobilized against these practices by the media like youtube and the press, the effects are slowly showing up. This pressure should be kept up without let , for this atrocity to stop. A failed administration, a serious lack of political will, and a heartless industry, in the face of such odds, a lone silver lining of publicity through media is having its effect. Thanks Manitham

Lots of labor laws and factory laws all presumably intended to help labor and more importantly stop the evil of child labor are present. But what use?? Amid the illiterate and dead poor masses and the evil factory owners the laws and their intentions are absolutely lost. It is very sad when one sees children disfigured all for the sake of entertainment and celebrations of the rich elsewhere. To realize that behind every burst of crackers in each festival , such tragedy is present is eyeopening.
