How far would you go to stay alive? The survivors of the well-known 1972 Andes plane crash recall what it took to live in the mountains for over 60 days with no food, water, or supplies. What they reveal is a story about one of humanity's greatest taboos and one that asks the question, what would you do?

In this clip, from turbulence to a sudden fall from the sky, survivors recall the events leading up to their plane crash. STRANDED: The Andes Plane Crash Survivors premieres Tuesday, May 19 on INDEPENDENT LENS, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Terrence Howard, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, INDEPENDENT LENS is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide.
