i noticed you was only holding it half wide open is it a new saw. i just bought mine today for limbing in a tree and doing the same thing you was until about 5 tank fills

Is it petrol or clockwork powered?? So cute.. and yep - it can be used one handed - recommend using 2 hands - but with proper training and safety equipment, no problems. It is after all a compact lightweight climbing / arbourist saw.. not really a logging / felling saw - try carting a MS660 or 880 with a 40" bar up a tree to trim back a few branches.. lol
