    The computer was added to the manual transmission to force the Corvette to meet federal emissions standards for 1984. Without the computer, the manual transmission would operate like normal, and allow the driver to burn as much gas as they could instead of upshifting or downshifting from overdrive to gain better fuel economy.

    any CFI systems that came across our bays we ripped that shit off there and slapped a holly carb on it and called it a day actually got these dogs past 200 hp but chevy would never admit how low powered these were in the early 80s. i know im a Chevy guy lol

    You obviously don't know shit about the crossfire system. They work just fine when set up correctly. The problem was GM using one setting fits all for the throttle bodies. I had an 84 that ran better than the tuned port cars I drove.
