I like Dick Clark, but he should have enlisted the help of some sesame street characters with this one. On the plus side he looked better than he has in recent years and seemed to be more 'with it' this year.

Spend a couple hours with stroke victims like Dick Clark who are mentally intact but unable to communicate and maybe you will understand how asinine a comment like that is. I really hope you never have a stroke and have people talk about putting you out of your misery.

Ever since his stroke and subsequent therapy, Dick HAS recovered somewhat. But his advanced age {don't tell anyone, but he's 82 this year} makes a complete recovery virtually impossible. He'll always have some form of slurred speech and impaired motor skills, but I admire his guts for going to New York every New Year's Eve to be "in" on these telecasts. He WANTS to do it, just as much as he frequently goes out to dinner with close friends. He knows that if he just "stays home", that's it.

I don't really like Dick Clark. I think he's a prick. Ever since his appearance in Bowling For Columbine and blew off Michael Moore, I have strongly disliked him. He's a little prick. I don't care what anyone says.
