My view on the revenge against Osama. Before you take my words out of context know that I believe terrorism is wrong and he was a disgusting human being. I am just saying nothing good comes out of revenge.

  • Peace is never gained by one side giving up a struggle. It is gained when both sides get fed up with the killing. Okay, you are fed up with it on our side. But are the terrorists? Do you think they are liberal, progressive thinkers, schooled in Martin Luther King Jr. ? They are indoctrinated with hate by their religious masters. They understand power. It is their jihad. Only when THEY get fed up with the killing will progress be made.

  • @TheHopefulSkeptic And you you expect them to stop hating us by the USA going in and bombing the crap out of their land? We killed so many middle eastern civilians to get to one man. Ridiculous. And the fact that America is jumping around like primitive humans does not help. We hate them because they publicly praise death. Look the USA became what it hates

  • Thanks for this thoughtful video. It's a refreshing change from all the chest-thumping that's being heard today. We need to stop and reflect on how we might end this cycle of violence, just as you suggest.

  • @marcmerlin Thank you! It was really discouraging to see the whole world act like the people they hate so much. It will never end as long and we justify murder as "justice"

  • I am from Saudi Arabia. If Bin laden was, really, the one who was behind 911, then, killing him would be justified.

  • I agree the celebration is nauseating. I am quietly in awe of our president for not releasing his snuff photos. I also love the way the news outlets whine because they didn't get to show it.

Having said that, he was our avowed enemy, beyond reconciliation. I believe that some foes must be fought and I am glad he is gone. I don't think I would call it justice. I don't think justice is available for those acts.

  • @Kathrynjustsaid I am not defending the Iraq war - that's a different argument. It was a disaster to start, but once committed, it had to be finished or chaos would have resulted. I agree that it increased hatred for the U.S. throughout the Muslim world.

But Afghanistan is different. It is a failed country that was invaded by Pakistan Taliban, and became a center for Bin Laden's hate. We have the opportunity to un-fail that country. Bin Laden was killed in a firefight, and good riddance.
